Respect the Dead
Out of respect for both the deceased and their loved ones, avoid touching monuments or stepping on graves. All original monuments are more than a century old and can be easily damaged. While walking through the cemetery, follow the walkways and marked paths. Decorations or mementos that have been left on the graves are not to be removed.
Respect Other Visitors
While Mulberry Street Cemetery is no longer active, each visitor experiences this site differently. Consider that some visitors will feel heavy-hearted while others may be jubilant. Keep voices low and cell phones muted so your experience does not distract or disturb other visitors.
Respect the Environment
Visitors are encouraged to explore the cemetery, enjoy a leisurely walk or a picnic. Please do not litter and kindly pick up any trash found on the ground. Family pets and service animals are welcome in the cemetery, but please keep them on a leash.
Do You Know Someone Who Is Buried Here?
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Hundreds of unmarked gravesites line the grassy hillside of Mulberry Street Cemetery. Thanks to ground penetrating radar, we know the locations of these sites; however, we do not know the identification of these individuals. Please contact Troup County Archives if you have information about individuals who may be buried here.
